How Many Days of Training?
4 days, 4 hours each day live on Zoom with lessons and Q&A. There will be a short break each day.
Do I Have to Attend Live?
The class will be recorded in case you can't attend all the sessions, so you don't have to. Part of the main value of this course is the fact that you'll get me (and Daria) live to guide you and answer your questions. I think the lessons will be more effective this way. So attend live as much as you can, but the recordings will be there for you daily to watch as many times as you need.
How Long Will I Have Access To The Replays?
Forever! I have no plans to take them down, so you'll be able to reference the videos as often as you'd like anytime in the future.
Will The Recordings Be Available For Purchase Later?
No. The recordings will NEVER be repackaged and sold after the training. Only people who purchase a ticket will have access to the live experience and recordings to this session.
Will You Give Footage For Grading Practice?
Yes! I have great footage from my client work that I'll use in the course and you'll be able to download to practice during or after the course and keep. I request that these clips are NOT used for showreels and promotional work and are for use by you purely for the purpose of practise. They may not be shared with anyone else. Not all footage I use will be available for download. Please note that I do not intend to upload mass amounts of footage or whole projects - it will be sections of footage relevant to what we need for the course, including problematic footage! I will be giving you a project file with some elements we may use in the course.
I'm A Beginner, Can I Take This Course?
Yes! The course assumes basic knowledge of DaVinci Resolve. If you don't have that, you can still take the course! Just be sure to watch the Absolute Beginners guide that I have just posted recently on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/g52gP_bR65E If you haven't really used the Colour Page you will be fine but be prepared to get quite deep quite quick at a very structured and easy to follow level.
Can I Follow Along if I Only Have The Free Version of DaVinci Resolve?
Yes! Most of the tools and techniques covered are accessible in the free version. You can use all the tools but Studio features come up with a watermark. Once you are ready to take on clients, I highly recommend upgrading to Resolve Studio.
Do I need the Dehancer OFX plug-in?
No. We WILL do a small session on Dehancer. There is a free 14 day trial available without watermark. Do not download this until nearer the course date else it will expire early. Details will be given nearer the time. You will not need to buy this.
Do I Get a Certificate?
Yes. A unique digital certificate of achievement will be available after the course.

Darren Mostyn I am Senior Colourist and founder of Online Creative, a post facility in the UK - established in 1999. I regularly colour grade for the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV and Amazon Music and recently Netflix. I have worked internationally with ABC, Turner (USA), Channel 7 (Australia), HBS (FIFA), NHK (Japan), N24 (Germany) amongst many. My work is diverse and covers documentaries, factual and entertainment television, music videos, branded content, features and shorts. I am a certified master trainer for Blackmagic Design on DaVinci Resolve and have talked about my work at seminars across the world. I regularly demo for Blackmagic Design at International trade shows and events to show DaVinci Resolve at its very best. I work closely with the developers to keep on top of latest software changes. I have been training editors and colourists of all ability levels since 1994 on systems from Avid, Adobe, Sony and of course DaVinci Resolve. I trained the BBC, Edit123, C4, SKY, MTV, ITN News, Reuters, Aardman, FIFA, Burberry and hundreds of broadcasters and individuals from as far away as Australia, USA. Daria Fissoun is a colourist, compositor and certified DaVinci Resolve trainer with 14 years of post production experience. She specialises in commercial video projects and has worked on both US and UK feature productions, including a role as a post-production engineer on several Disney+ films. Alongside industry work, Daria is also involved in the educational sector. She currently instructs on a variety of post-production topics, including compositing, motion graphic animation, and colour grading. She has been a staff member or guest lecturer at film and media schools throughout London, including SAE Institute London, MET Film School, Central Film School, and London South Bank University. She develops training materials for Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve software, and has written The Colourist Guide since its first release in 2019.
